That's really cool. I've been wanting to try the same thing. I read about Joe Bonamassa's stage rig, and he does that. He mics his amps, also. (Of course, he's playing large shows, with big amps!) But, he likes how the shields keep the stage volume managable, and also how they create a type of consistent "virtual room" from place to place. This allows him to re-create his same "room" at all of his gigs, to maintain a consistent tone. |

hey...Ive seen some plexi-glass shields, but they werent "W"'s...whats the reasoning behind the "W" shape? a friend of mine has kept his first PA which uses 18" spkrs in a "W" bin cab. They measure 4X4X8, very hard to move, but sound amazing...the old days though |

W shape helps it stand plus the pieces I had weren't wide enough to make just a V (two pieces) had to use 4 pieces (W). I set it up with one V of the W in front of each 12 in my 2x12. BTW - my tape hinges are still holding up :-) |
