Here's a cool descrïption of tube characteristics, from the BUDDA website. I thought this might be of some interest to you, Twin 18.[couleur=#00f00e] http://www.budda.com/resources/Tubes.pdf |

Yeah, I OFTEN put a 12AU7, 12AY7, or 12AT7 in V1. It makes the OD less "splatty" in many amps. I'll have to try a 5751. Which brand did you use? |

Anybody got any particular brand of tubes that they recommend for a Twinmaster 210 Combo? |

My strong recommendation is to use: V1 - Sovtek 12AX7WB V2 - Sovtek 12AX7WA V3 and V4 - Sovtek EL84 Rectifier - Electro Harmonix 5U4GB IMO, this set of tubes produces the fullest, creamiest, most balanced sound in this circuit. Incidentally, this is the recommended set by Jeff Bober. That said, you might want to just try different brands to find what you like. But if you don't want to mess with that, the above set will give you fantastic results. |
