I'm considering an SD18, but I'm worried it may be "too loud."  Everyone talks about how loud it is, but how does it sound at low volume?  Thanks.

I have an SD18 and it is LOUD. However, Budda has THE BEST tone at low volume that I've ever heard from any amp. Period. And I've tried all the tricks - power soak, THD Hotplate, TS808 OD, DS1 etc. Nothing beats the tone I can get using the Drive and Rythm Channel knobs at low volume. Singing sustain and tone even when I barely get any sound at all from the master volume.

Add a THD and crank it to 4-5 and it's tone to die for. Without the THD and you will be in heaven but you'd better also be in a big room or better yet playing a gig.
